ITZY member Lia has recently announced a temporary hiatus from her scheduled activities, citing health concerns. JYP Entertainment conveyed this decision through an official statement posted on Monday via ITZY’s official fan community. Lia’s break was prompted by her struggle with “extreme tension and anxiety.” Additionally, Lia penned a heartfelt letter to her fans, which she shared on ITZY’s Instagram account. The following statement is issued by JYPE:
“Hello, this is JYPE. We wish to provide an update regarding the health status of ITZY member Lia and her upcoming engagements. Lia recently sought medical advice due to experiencing severe tension and anxiety related to her scheduled activities.
With the well-being of our artist as our utmost concern, and following extensive deliberation with the group members, it has been decided that Lia will temporarily refrain from participating in her scheduled activities starting today. She will take a hiatus to prioritize her treatment and recovery. The timeline for Lia’s return to her activities will be determined following thorough discussions involving Lia and the group members.
We deeply regret any worry this may have caused our fans and sincerely apologize. As soon as a decision is reached regarding Lia’s return to her activities, we will promptly make an announcement. Thank you.”
Lia pens note for fans
In a post on Instagram, as reported by Soompi, Lia expressed, “Greetings, MIDZY. I’m sure the news today might have taken you by surprise. I know how much MIDZY cares about me, even when I’m just slightly under the weather. I was concerned that you’d feel saddened and disheartened upon hearing the news. However, I also find strength in the fact that MIDZY knows and believes in me more than anyone else. Your unwavering support gives me the courage to face this, knowing that you will understand and patiently await my return.”
“It has been six years since I embarked on this incredible journey alongside the companions I met through our common dream. I have traversed through time and distance, arriving at this point, all thanks to the unwavering support of my fellow members and our beloved MIDZY fans. Along the way, we’ve encountered numerous challenges and experiences, each leaving its mark on our memories and sprinkling us with countless moments of joy. While these times were undoubtedly precious, I’ve come to the realization that amidst the hustle and bustle, I’ve been slowly losing sight of myself.”
Lia has requested a break.
