Nicki Minajs husband Kenneth Petty placed on house arrest Kenneth Petty, the spouse of renowned rapper Nicki Minaj, has been put under house arrest following a recent video where he was seen making threats towards Offset, a member of the hip-hop group Migos.
Last week, videos surfaced on social media depicting Petty and his associates outside a building where Offset was reportedly staying. In one of the clips, Petty is heard saying, “Offset, where are you? as per footage obtained by the X account MrPopOfficial. Subsequently, a friend of Petty’s added menacingly, Start planning that vacation, because you’ll be busy planning your funeral.
A probation officer filed a petition on Wednesday in the Central District of California U.S. District Court, seeking to have Petty participate in a home detention program for a maximum period of 120 days as a consequence of his threats towards Offset in the video. This program may encompass measures such as electronic monitoring, GPS tracking, an Alcohol Monitoring Unit, or an automated identification system.
The petition stated that Mr. Petty was captured on video making menacing comments directed at a particular individual while in the presence of an individual with a criminal history. The request proposed that enrolling Mr. Petty in the Location Monitoring Program would result in enhanced supervision of his actions, restrict his mobility, establish consequences for any breaches, and ideally prompt him to contemplate and reassess his current standing within the community.
Previously, Petty had been handed a probationary sentence with house arrest due to his failure to register as a sex offender in July 2022. As reported by NBC and CBS Los Angeles at the time, he was also required to pay a $55,000 fine, serve three years on probation, and spend one year in home detention.
In response to the court’s decision to grant the defense’s request for probation and home confinement, Petty’s attorneys, Michael Goldstein and Hagop Kuyumjian, expressed their appreciation and respect in a statement provided to USA TODAY after the sentencing.

In July 2019, Petty relocated to Los Angeles and subsequently married Minaj in October of the same year. However, court records indicate that he deliberately neglected to comply with the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA) by failing to register as a sex offender.
In March 2020, Etty voluntarily surrendered to federal authorities for failing to register as a sex offender in California, as confirmed by the U.S. Marshals Service, and subsequently pleaded guilty in 2021, according to reports from NBC and CBS.
